Blaq is a web-based job management system created by Zignet, a software development company based in Sydney, Australia.
Zignet first launched Blaq as a PC application in 2002. At that time it was used solely by printers. Our clients included companies with branches spread throughout Australia which needed to have their data continually synchronised with their head office - a cumbersome and expensive task at the time. Some of them used Apple Macs and wanted to be able to use them to run Blaq. They also wanted a simple way to access Blaq from out of the office after hours and on weekends.
After looking at the different ways of fulfilling the above requests, Zignet decided the best solution for our clients - and no doubt future clients - would be to recreate Blaq as a web application. In the second half of 2004, after deciding between the different options for web languages and platforms available for the new Blaq, the redesign began.
In 2005 Zignet launched Blaq as a web application and it's users immediately saw the many advantages the new interface provided. Since then, many new companies have signed up to become Blaq users. Our current clients include printers and graphic designers spread throughout Australia.
Please note, Blaq is hosted in a world-class data-centre which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure Blaq is available whenever our clients need it.
